In First Grade, we have a lot of fun while engaging with interactive curriculum based activities and lessons! In our classroom, we emphasize the importance of respect, community, creativity, and kindness. Students will learn a myriad of concepts from addition and subtraction strategies, how plants grow and how sounds are caused by vibrations, how to create complete and descriptive sentences, and so much more! We participate in many beautiful First Grade traditions, such as performing songs and dances for Parkview care home almost every month, and partake in events such as our First Grade Poetry Slam and Polar Express Day. We love project-based learning and learning through hands-on experiences like the City Planning and Building project. And most of all, we put a special emphasis on the journey of learning and the beauty of learning from our mistakes.
Virtual Polar Express Day 2020
St. Bede's Fantastic First Graders celebrated their first ever VIRTUAL Polar Express Day this year! We are so happy that we were able to continue this longstanding First Grade tradition despite this year being a tad bit different. We received very special magical gifts and hot chocolate from the jolly old man himself, learned all about reindeer, shared conversations with some very special elven visitors, and even went to the North Pole and back! It was truly magical, especially for those that truly BELIEVE!
The Amazing Monster Show
The Amazing Monster Show is here! Fantastic First Graders have turned into Monster Masters and they are ready to dazzle you with their very detailed monster creations! The kiddos worked hard on their Descriptive Writing Presentations just for you, so come on in!"
For Valentine's Day, the 1st grade class performed the song L.O.V.E for our St. Bede community.
